Ormiston Urology believes the current diagnostic process for patients with elevated PSA levels can be stressful and time-consuming. Typically, after visiting their GP and receiving a raised PSA test result, patients must undergo four medical visits to diagnose or rule out prostate cancer, resulting in significant time lost from work or home. This process can take 4 to 8 weeks, and the biopsy is often performed using outdated technologies.

To alleviate these issues, Ormiston Urology offers a New Zealand-first one-stop PSA assessment clinic that can be completed in a single day, typically within six hours, using the highly advanced Artemis system.

The clinic allows patients to see a urologist in the morning, walk a short distance to the radiology partner TRG for an MRI scan, and immediately return to Ormiston Urology for an ARTEMIS fusion biopsy the same day.

At Ormiston Urology, clinical expertise, excellent MRI image quality, and highly accurate MRI-based prostate biopsy targeting come together to provide patients with a world-class assessment, imaging, and biopsy pathway within a half day.

The clinic uses the Artemis MRI-Ultrasound fusion platform, a sophisticated 3D biopsy machine and software platform that targets lesions identified on MRI in real time with high accuracy. This machine is unavailable elsewhere in New Zealand and is Auckland’s only targeted biopsy device. Ormiston Urology is excited to offer this service to patients.
